Manchester Driveways is one of the longest established driveway companies in Manchester. We are very experienced in all aspects of paving and groundworks, both in residential and commercial projects. With our focus being exclusively on paving and groundwork Manchester Driveways’ work includes block paving, brick paving, driveways, patios and much more.
From our first day of trading, our aim has been to build a company with a reputation for providing quality paving and groundwork in Manchester.
We are a Marshalls’ approved contractor and have our work inspected regularly by Marshalls’ project managers.
We have also built up over the years good relationships with many builders, landlords, property owners, schools, churches and many more in various fields, so let us add you to our list of happy customers.
Marshalls
Marshalls are also leading the way in making sure all their products are ethically sourced and not produced using child labour in illegal quarries in India. Marshalls was the first member in the landscaping industry to join the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and all their imported stone is marked with the Fair Stone logo. Marshalls Fairstone is a range of Indian Natural Stone which is quarried in a way to ensure that there are fair working conditions for all workers around the world. This is in line with the ETI Base Code which states the following:
- No one should be forced to work
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic
- Child labour shall not be used
- Living wages are paid
- Working hours are not excessive
- No discrimination is practised
- Regular employment is provided
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed
- Workers are free to join and form trade unions and bargain with management
Manchester Driveways provides a guarantee directly from Marshalls themselves and covers the materials for 10 years and the workmanship for 5 years. This will stand regardless of whether or not Manchester Driveways is in business. It also covers us for not rectifying any faults – which I might add would never happen – but as you can see it is a real guarantee that is worth having.
Payment
At Manchester Driveways we do not require a deposit, booking fee or money in advance for materials etc. Only when your project has been fully completed will we ask you for payment by remitting our invoice.
Recycling
Crusher machine
Manchester Driveways recycle as much as eighty five percent of all the waste and excavated material we create. This is not only friendly towards the environment but also logical for the business. We separate any excavated materials on site i.e. concrete, tarmac and bricks and take them to recycling centres around Manchester. This type of material will go through a machine called a crusher (see right), which compresses the waste material into any size of aggregate required and they can also make MOT type stone which can then be reused as hardcore for roads, footpaths, driveways etc. We also separate any soil on site and take this to a recycling centre where it is put through a screen machine which removes any stone, brick, wood etc to provide clean soil for reuse. Any trees and bushes we remove are taken to the Council tip where they are put through a shredder to create mulch for reuse on planting beds etc.
The only material we take to landfill sites is clay as at this moment in time no-one has created a way of recycling this waste product.
